1. What is the Nature of Human Nature?

By the ???nature of??? something, we are looking at the essential qualities or characteristics by which something is recognized. For example, the nature of fire is to burn. By simplification, ???nature??? refers to the ???purpose??? of something.

Before we figure out the purpose of why human nature exists, let us first determine what human nature is. According to the Wikipedia, ???human nature is the range of human behavior that is believed to be innate rather than learned. There is much debate over which behaviors are innate and which are learned, and whether or not this division applies equally to all individuals. This debate is also known as ‘nature versus nurture’.??? Sociologist believe that human behavior is neither entirely voluntary nor innate, and believe that it is the combination of the two.

This problem of distinction can be observed by the fact that most humans do not simply live by their self-centered instinct nor learned behavior alone, but make intelligent decisions which sometimes contradicts human nature itself. For example, a stranger might jump into the raging river to save a drowning person, risking his own life for someone he doesn???t know or even need to care about. This runs against the grain of self-preservation, a survival instinct built into most living organisms. As such, I believe that we cannot learn of one universal human nature, but of a human nature that is only relevant to each individual.

I see human nature as the intertwining of biological, social and environmental factors. It is this functional yet organic relationship which ultimately determines human behavior. The purpose of it seems to be to simply give individuals a sense of direction, without which, there would be little interest in the pursuit for life.

2. What is the Nature of Society?

According to the Wikipedia, a society ???is a group of people that form a semi-closed system, in which most interactions are with other individuals belonging to the group. A society is a network of relationships between people. A society is an interdependent community. The casual meaning of society simply refers to a group of people living together in an ordered community.??? The organizing function of a society is important for without it, there would only be complete and utter chaos where I would imagine individuals combating for their own independent needs. It would seem that the more efficient way to survive would be to organize and cooperate for the betterment of everyone in a society.

On an humanistic level, the society also represents a belief system which individuals subscribe to when they participate in it. From the agriculture-based, to the industrial-based, to now the informational-based society, societies evolve with the central idea of having efficient strategies for survival. For the modern day society, individuals subscribe to the ideas such as the government, economics and democracy. While it should be the interest of the people to believe in the social system, it should also be the society which listens to the people to tend to their interests. This interweaving between the individual and his or her society is something that is built in the very meaning of society.

Taking one further step back on an abstract level, societies likened to pockets of order in a galaxy of chaos. Within each society lies a subset of chaos as well as order. Now that we have seen how societies work, we can observe that the nature of society seems to be that of a balancing force. This institution of equilibrium makes life more livable by bringing order and reducing chaos to a more manageable level.

3. What is the Nature of Technology?

It is perhaps technology that helped defined us as a people of the human race. Since the very beginning of human culture, we had the idea of creating tools to help us better manage the world we live in. Technology could even be part of human nature, for it is embedded in the entire development of human civilization. It should be seen as an intrinsic part of a cultural system and it both shapes and reflects the system’s values. Like the individual???s relationship with society, technology would be the third relationship interweaved with both entities.

Technology can come in the form of physical as well as metaphysical tools, including language, rituals, and skills such as design, management and production. To define technology, it is likened to a tool which extends our abilities to change the world in many ways. It allows us to create things out of materials; to transport objects over distances; and to communicate beyond our human ability. While we typically see technology as helping us adapt to the world better, technology also shapes the world to suit us better. Since we do not possess the absolute truth about the world around us, it is we who can try to give meaning to our environment. However, as we try to develop newer technology to appreciate our world better, the results of changing the world are often complicated and unpredictable, which would lead to unexpected human gains or loss (e.g. natural fuel engines polluting the environment).

Ultimately, I believe that the nature of technology is very much like the nature of theory, which is to better understand and fully appreciate our subjective world in order to reach a higher possible level of equilibrium with our environment.

LIM CHU KANG BURNS CASE: SUICIDE I thought she was a ghost By Lee Tee Jong THE setting was eerie, like a scene out of a horror movie. It was night and a sea of tombstones could be seen along Lim Chu Kang Road. Out of the dark, a naked woman stumbled out from the Chinese cemetery. Madam Ang Suan Sim, 40, a businesswoman, started waving her hands frantically and tottered towards an oncoming van. The startled driver, Mr Ng Choon Chuan, 28, was a salesman on his way to his fishing haunt at the Lim Chu Kang kelong. When he blinked to take a second look, his van had overtaken the woman. In a phone interview with The New Paper, Mr Ng said in Mandarin: 'I was afraid. I thought I had seen a ghost.' It was around 9pm on June 12. His van was the only vehicle on that long stretch of road. He was curious, so he made a U-turn. That was when Madam Ang spread out her arms to signal him to stop. He noticed that she had nothing on except for a collar around her neck and bits of cloth stuck to her thigh. Seconds later, she collapsed by the side of the road. Mr Ng called the police. He said: 'She was facing the ground and groaning in pain. Her skin was charred. I stood about one metre from her as I did not know what to do.' By then, a crowd of taxi-drivers had gathered. Then, Madam Ang spoke. She told Mr Ng in Hokkien to call shifu to come collect her body. Gasping for breath, she was coherent enough to give the monk's telephone number. Shifu (master in Mandarin) is Venerable Guang Rong, a monk who shared her terrace house in Telok Kurau. In June, The New Paper had reported that in her will, she had left him her $920,000 house and her car. According to an investigation report, Madam Ang's body was covered with burn marks that smelled of kerosene. Nearby was her gold Mercedes-Benz, engine running and petrol cap off. Inside were puddles of liquid smelling like kerosene, a disposable lighter and seven empty kerosene bottles. Madam Ang died two days later at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) from severe burns. Lim Chu Kang cemetery, as it turned out, is where her mother is buried. DEPRESSED Madam Ang, who was depressed and suicidal at times, had sought treatment at the Institute of Mental Health. Last year, the divorcee reportedly invited the monk, an old acquaintance in his 40s, to live with her. She had no children. Her maid had helped to load a bag of kerosene bottles and bottles of brandy into the Mercedes' boot that June afternoon. Later, police found several suicide notes written by Madam Ang at her home. On Oct 11, the coroner recorded a suicide verdict. We contacted the monk but he declined comment.

- This is seriously weird how a perfectly “normal” 20 year old guy in the Pes “A” combat fit NSMan can simply drop dead and die.

This reminds me of what happened to many fit and strong young men who died when they were walking, jogging or running.

How can people deemed to be fit can be dead faster then those who are not fit? Or is there a surge in “unclassified” & “unknown” death not due to fitness?

It seems to me the common answers to this phenomenal that the newspaper’s “experts” can explain is that these cases belong to sudden heart attack…but I am not sure.

I know it’s tough to chin up as during my army days…I was a “zero fighter” that constantly unable to do a single chin up but only managed to pass the test on the final IPPT test.

I feel that there are some kind of connection or link to these young and fit people who die so suddenly. If I am an investigating officer of this case or cases, I will check what they consume as first priority such as “health” products or “drugs” that can boost their fitness.

The usual suspect goes to those chemicals that usually for the unfit people to train their body and boost their metabolism so that they can be fitter while they exercise regularly.

I am not sure how and what caused the death of FIT people but the link is that they do exercise regularly and may buy similiar “health” or “fitness” products.

It’s prime time that the AVA can identify serious causes of sudden death of young and fit individuals during their exercise routines.

I believe that Singaporeans may believe too much on advertising and bias “scientific” research by “scientist” that are sponsored by their companies selling health products base on their research.

May I ask if the scientist claimed that 99.9% of cancer cases in China consume rice, does that means Rice is the cause of cancer?

Alternatively if 90% of the survey they took on a specific group of people of sample size 300-1000 people on their products achieve great fitness, does that means their product is proven effective?

Their research results tends to be positive on their own sponsoring companies and pretty bias and most likely cover up some of the “negative side effects” of the products with tiny labels.

Now, can the “forensic” department that Singapore is about to set up be able to detect or investigate the links in the numerous death of perfectly young and fit individuals in Singapore?

Oh, there is also the Medical Board’s failure to diagnose medical conditions even thou proven by Specialist by public hospital….These PES Status is really controlled by a bunched of military doctors that unfortunately may be also not 100% qualified.

My own experience is that I was given “PES B” combat fit even I told the medical board that I was born asthmatic and eventually was downgraded first to PES C2L2 then PES C9L2 over the 2 years and 6 months of National Service.

THE THIRD EYE

The Third Eye

The thirds eye,is the eye, that can see the spirits, from the Spiritual World, to see with the 3rd eye, perhaps, a person with normal energy, it is not in proper working order. When the brains is not active or activated. A person is either in between awake, and about to sleep. Happen also when a person is between asleep and awake. Can also happens when a person brains is not thinking or blank during the day, either alone, or with someone, the person is day-dreaming.

The Third Eye see anything, let's use the word spirits,( ghosts disturb people who are of unsound mind, the same ghost appear all the time to a person, the ghost is haunting a person. ). Only common spirit we see all the time, they are the Demi-god.

Can a spiritual master open a third eye? I heard many Spiritual masters claim he can open a third eye. I had done it by accident, opened up my third eye. I was try a healing, when I found that I actually opened my vision to the spiritual beings.

Spiritual healing, means making use of the energy to help the weak body organs to become
stronger without using herbs or medicines.

Meditation requires a person to concentrate on his blood and air circulation to the weaker organs, the circulation of blood and air helps the weaker organs to receive the nutrients to refurnish.

The third eye requires same type of energy, this is refurnishing the positive and negative energies. The energy give the abilities to reduce the yang energy and replace with Ying energy.

The ability to switch the mind from fully awake to between going to sleep and sleeping and between sleeping and just wake up. All this require some exercises, but a person can never see spirits even if a person can do it. Learning to absorb energy from spiritual sources help maintain a consistency of the 3th eye. The energy can be transfer from a highly trained spiritual Master.
